Who is Desert Capital REIT? 
  • Desert Capital is organized as a real estate investment trust (REIT). REITs receive special tax treatment from the IRS. They do not have to pay corporate taxes when at least 90% of income is paid out as dividends to shareholders.
  • Desert Capital REIT lends money directly to real estate owners and lenders or extends credit indirectly. Our goal is to deliver attractive dividend income to investors through the acquisition of real estate loans and mortgage-backed securities.
  • Dividend income is generated by loan payments made by borrowers.
  • Led by Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors Todd B. Parriott, Desert Capital REIT’s senior management brings to the company more than 25 years real estate investment experience.

  • Founded in December 2003 by the management of Consolidated Mortgage.
  • Acquired Consolidated Mortgage, LLC in October 2005.

  • Desert Capital REIT raises money in the public markets to invest in REIT-eligible assets, primarily real estate loans or direct loans to real estate owners and builders.
  • The company carefully selects real estate investments that offer high-quality collateral and generate monthly income from payment on loans.
  • We use leverage to increase returns to our shareholders.
  • We strive to be an efficient operation to increase shareholder value.

  • Desert Capital REIT’s assets are loans secured by real estate, not direct ownership in properties. We know their true market value every day.
  • Our focus is on a diversified portfolio of mortgage loans, including acquisition and development loans, construction loans, commercial property loans and residential loans.
