Jonathan Arens is the Co-Chief Operating Officer for Desert Capital REIT. His responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. Additionally, Mr. Arens serves as the Chief Financial Officer for CMC Financial Services, Inc., the dealer-manager for Desert Capital REIT since December 2003.  In this role he performs the duties of NASD financial reporting, budget preparation, and variance analysis, and also evaluates investment opportunities for investors.

Prior to joining CMC Financial Services Mr. Arens was a teacher’s assistant in the Accounting Department at the University of Iowa, where he taught introductory accounting.

Mr. Arens received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Iowa.  Mr. Arens is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
